I teach, I laugh, I get dirty.

Hi! I'm Amanda Joy :) Welcome to Joyful Dirt Creations!

Joyful Dirt is all about my adventures in pottery, cooking, and exploring my hometown of Cincinnati. I've always been a creative person and loved experimenting with dishes and putting together meals for my friends and family. But it wasn't until I started taking pottery classes at the beginning of 2015 that I discovered my love for throwing clay. One of the things I really love about pottery is the way you can create something from nothing – you're literally taking a clump of dirt and turning it into a pretty bowl or mug or other dish that people can use in their own homes and kitchens as part of their daily lives. Nothing makes me happier than knowing my pottery is going to be a part of a meal that brings people together.

Now I don't know how I survived so long without making pottery!  It's shown me a new way to be an artist and I'm loving the chance to learn a new skill and make it my own. Follow along as I journey towards becoming a better potter and figure out how to merge my new love of throwing clay with my existing love of cooking.
